"Stranger
in America (Extranjera en America)" by Henry Iglesias and Victor Cabrera
“Stranger in America” is a masterpiece of drama, laughter, romance, mystery and high adventure. A musical with 37 unforgettable original songs that capture your imagination and embrace your heart. “Stranger in America” is also a “telenovela” like no one has ever seen: 20 weeks of music, dance and the epic unsung tale of the immigrant. It is also the story of Ana Maria, the 17 year old singer-poet born from a poor little pueblo about to go on an unexpected 10 year odyssey. The
story of Ana is quite a normal and happy one in her little town of
San Finbar, until one nightmarish evening. On an isolated country
road, the sociopathic town Sheriff known as “Gordo” brutally
murders her fiancé in a fit of jealous rage. Arriving
in Los Angeles, Ana, Berta, and David find refuge at the home of Ruben's
Aunt and Uncle, who kindly open their doors to them and even help
them find jobs and start their lives again. Everyone faces the everyday
obstacles of being an immigrant, a stranger in a strange land, and
ultimately they sacrifice everything in the name of hope. The
bullet that Ana put in him didn’t kill him, but instead left
him deformed and full of nothing but hate and vengeance for Ana, and
he will do anything - and kill anyone - to get to her. He leaves a
trail of dead bodies as he stalks her obsessively across two countries,
watching and waiting for the perfect moment to bring her and everyone
she loves a fresh Hell and a bloody and unforgettable finale. COPYRIGHT 2003 H. IGLESIAS / V. CABRERA ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
